September 27, 2010 Mia is 3 weeks old

My dear friend Libby Tolman took these awesome pictures of Mia on September 27, 2010 (Mia is almost 3 weeks old). Libby was here all morning and Mia was good for about 5 minutes of it. I love the pictures she was able to take while she wasn't crying or peeing all over Libby's props. I am so lucky to have such a great friend and even more luckier to have a beautiful healthy baby girl.

This is how Mia was through most of the photo shoot.

Mia..one week old

My little Mia.....what a sweetie. She sleeps a lot. I have had to wake her up and feed her because she doesn't wake up. Today Matthew said to me...Mommy she smiled at me. We had a doctor's appointment today and Mia weighed 7 lbs 11oz. Not quite up to her birth weight but we are working on it. We have to go back in a few days to check her weight. She is so fragile and we all love her so much.
Mia barely fits into her new born clothes. They are swimming on her.

Ellie's Eye

My poor little Ellie got 5 stitches right below her eye brow. Ellie was playing golf in P.E. on September 9th and was standing a little to close to the boy in front of her that was supposed to be putting the golf ball and instead he swung and she got hit. It was horrible. I am a stay at home mom and the one time my daughter needs me I wasn't there. The school called the house phone and the cell phone and I didn't answer because I was hooked up to a stress test at my OBGYN appt. My due date is in 6 days. I called Grant as soon as I got the message on my cell phone and he immediately got off work and met my mom and Ellie at the Gridley hospital. I was so sad I wasn't able to be there but she had Grant and my mom.
Pictures of Ellie right after they took the stiches off.
Ellie was so strong and did well while the Doctor put the stiches in. Hopefully the scar will not be noticed in a few months

Welcome Home Mia!

Welcome Home Mia! Some great friends decorated the house with balloons, signs and all other sorts of fun things before our arrival home from the hospital. It was fun to be home.

First time Ellie was able to hold Mia, she was so excited!

The new addition to the Miskin Family!

Our family has grown by.....2 little feet. Mia Camille Miskin was born on September 15, 2010 at 9:35 a.m. Mia was 8 lbs 3oz and 20 3/4 inches long.

I took pictures of Grant but all of them are vertical and I don't know how to turn them, I will post more when I learn how to do it.

First day of School = Going to the Fish Hatchery for Matthew

Matthew has been asking about the Fish Hatchery since the day they closed last year. He loves this place. So even though it wasn't open yet (opening day is September 15, 2010 the day baby girl is due) we sent the kids off to school (first day), packed our lunches and drove to Oroville to see all of the Salmon waiting till the fish ladder opened. There were thousands of Salmon waiting and Matthew enjoyed every minute we were there. It was fun to be with just Matthew and I. We had a great time together!

First day of School

Taylor and Ellianna's first day of school pictures. Some love the annual pictures and some don't (can you tell which one doesn't?).
Taylor is entering into the 7th grade. Anticipating what this year will bring! Taylor was elected by the Manzanita staff to be Co-Treasurer for the Student body. If he does a great job this year he will automatically be the Treasurer for his upcoming 8th grade year. Taylor is going into AP alegebra this year, playing in the Rec soccer team (with dad coaching), taking piano and approaching basketball season. It should be a busy time for him. I do not have a picture of Taylor's home room teacher because.... well, do I really have to tell you he's 12!
Ellianna is going into the 5th grade. She is very excited about school starting because she can wear all of her new clothes and see her friends. Ellie is going into 6th grade math, playing on the Gridley Rec Soccer team (with dad coaching), anticipating her new violin teacher, Mrs. Helen and her group violin lessons. She also will be busy with the basketball season approaching.
