Mia walking ????? Yes, I believe she is!

Mia might possibly be walking.  She has walked 11 steps consecutively in the last few days.  Of course, when I want to video tape it she doesn't take as many steps but at least I have some footage.  She prefers to crawl but she is learning.
Mia is 16 days shy of her 1st birthday.

Matthew and I's annual Fish Hatchery Trip

Matthew and I started this tradition 3 years ago. He is only four but he looks forward to it every year. On the first day of school for the older kids Matthew and I enjoy some time together (this year little Mia was added to our tradition). As soon as we drop the kids off at school we drive to Oroville with out snacks pack and the camera. This year there were tons of Samon waiting for the ladder to open up. Matthew loves to watch the salmon jump into the water fall. We enjoy this time together and we will go up a few more times before the season is over to see the Salmon up the ladder and the process of the run.

We had a fun day together and look forward to going back for the Salmon Festival in a couple of weeks.

First Day of School 2011

The feelings around our house were EXCITEMENT, NERVOUSNESS, SCARED AND ANXIOUS. Most of these feelings were felt from me but a few were felt from the kids. Taylor is going into 8th grade. Which means he will in High School next year.  Ellie is now in middle school and is very nervous about being able to open up her locker.  Taylor has already said he would not help her out (what a kind brother).  Matthew is doing Mommy school with me this year and he will be going to Kindergarten next year.  So this year I am going to savor and enjoy the RIDE!
My sweet Ellie.  She got her glasses a couple weeks ago and loves them.

Do boys over 12 ever smile in pictures.  Look at my cute Matthew, he knows how to have some fun!

My cute family!  Mia 11 1/2 months, Matthew 4 years old, Ellie 11 years old and Taylor 13 years old.

Mia is now really crawling, she ate her first little bit of dirt that was left on the floor (from Taylor's shoes) a couple minutes ago! I woke up a couple mornings ago and she was standing up in her crib. She is passing some big milestones in a baby's life. We also believe she is saying "Hot" and "Dada". I love this little girl.

My little Mia is crawling. We say crawling....she is trying to crawl and is getting places by crawling, scooting, sitting up and scooting and pushing herself along. She isn't fast yet but I am sure she will be soon. Mia started to make the motions of crawling about two weeks ago and last Monday the 23rd of May was her first real move. She usually crawls when we aren't paying attention to her and we wonder how she gets all the way across the room.

Mia is sitting up

Mia is sitting up all by herself. It may not last for long and she does tumble over but she is sitting on her own. It is so fun to watch her achieve these little mile stones. Mia is so much fun to have around and she is always smiling.

Ellie's Lemonade Stand

Ellie came home from school today and asked if she could have a Lemonade Stand outside. Our neighbor had just given us some lemons. Ellie invited a friend over and they got to work making brownies, fresh squeezed lemonade (delicious), chocolate chip cookies and raspberry crystal light. I have to say it was a success. They earned well over $25.00 and they were only out there for about an hour. As soon as they started to set up all of the neighbors kids came out and wanted to help out. They made signs, set up stations to advertise and helped promote the lemonade stand. It was great!!!!
Ellianna and Lorenza (above)
Some of the girls, I didn't get them all, they were holding up signs down the streets
Nice set up. They had a umbrella stand but no umbrella cover. The girls tried to put a tarp up on top but it blew away so they gave up. Neighbors might have felt sorry for us (ha ha ha ha ha)
The girls ran out of everything and had a great time!
I love spontaneous adventures
